Sehr geehrte Kunden und Reseller,

bei der DENIC (bedingt mal wieder durch Wartungsarbeiten) und beim
RIPE (bedingt durch einen Absturz des Festplattensystemes) kommt es 
weiterhin zu extremen Verzögerungen bzgl. der Domainregistrierung von
.de-Domains.

Anbei eine offizielle Ankündigung der DENIC und eine E-Mail vom RIPE, 
um das aktuelle Bild der technischen Verarbeitung aufzuzeigen:

Wir werden am Donnerstag, 2.3.2000 und am Dienstag, 7.3.2000, jeweils 
zwischen 11:00 und 13:00 Uhr Wartung an der denics5 durchfuehren. Das 
bedeutet, dass der Whois und Finger in dieser Zeit nicht aktiv sein 
werden.

Wir bedauern die Ungelegenheiten, aber es laesst sich nicht umgehen.

Due to a problem with a filesystem at whois.ripe.net yesterday, 29 February,
several of your update messages have been processed only partly.

The messages that were affected are those processed between 17:30 and 18:30
yesterday.  No acknowledgements were sent by , although
one or more of the objects in each message were processed.

We will reprocess these messages, so you don't need to send them again.

However, when receiving acknowledgments for these messages you may notice the following

and it was partly processed. This means that a new person object was created
yesterday, with a new nic-handle assigned by the ATUO-1 mechanism.  When we
sent in this update today, an identical person object, but with a different
NIC-handle, was created.  The person object created yesterday remains in
the RIPE Database.  We ask you to please delete it.

We apologize for trouble and inconvenience. This situation was beyond our
control and we are working to make sure that it does not happen again.
